Kenya dig it?!?

My family and friend Caitlin are bringing me to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago tomorrow to hop on my departing flight at 3:40 Michigan time for my 21hr 55min Total miles: 8428 miles flight to Nairobi!!! I cannot even believe the time has come for me to actually head out, yet leave feeling the amazing support and love from friends, family and even strangers I've just met! So much has gone into preparation for this journey and there is no way in the world I could have done it without the help from so many. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

To my Freshwater peeps: Thank you for the amazing surprise part-ay you threw for me last Sunday night. I am beyond blessed for the friendship I share with each one of you, and even though being put in the hot spot was a little awkward, it meant so much to hear your kind words and impressions of me (at least not all of them were first impressions- eww!) I am anxious to look through all your photos and notes during my flight and I'm sure many times while I'm there.

Not enough photos were taken to capture all the goodbyes and precious memories I have from all who took time to hang out with me before I leave, but impressions in my mind are treasures I take with me.

Next update will be from Africa!!! (Kenya dig it?!?)

I am leaving you a comment so that you will know that you have someone reading this, and looking forward to all of your updates (and pictures *crossing fingers*) from Kenya. I love you and am going to miss you so much!

Hey Sarah - Beth Washington from Milwood! I am so happy for you that you have chosen such an amazing experience - you are brave! I'm wondering if you students in Kenya would love some letters from 8th graders? My students are going to do a quick writing about Washington, D.C. and I would love for them to have a real audience to share them with. Let me know what teaching is like compared to here - I really am excited to read more about it!
