"If we had all the answers, we wouldn't be here..."
*truth*
We talked about this quote before leaving work today, brought up after a tough, tricky day that had left me feeling discouraged and inadequate in "solving the world's problems..." (or at least some of those big questions with unknown answers in a given day's work).
As I drove home from my tough day, wondering how I could make things better, my eyes glimpsed a glorious, bright pink sunset- diminishing the gloominess of yesterday's snow day and I was gloriously reminded of my KING! Chris Tomlin's lyrics (chorus below) filled my thoughts...
"O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior's love for me!"
The verses to Tomlin's song, as follows, brought that rather familiar, but so easily forgotten truth that I am nothing without Christ, and my soul sings with Tomlin-
"I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.
He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.
He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.
As Christmas so quickly approaches,
let's remember that He became sin for us,
that His love for us truly is beyond comprehension,
and that we are here on earth because we don't have all the answers-
but Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the light.
