"Can You Spare Me Some Wisdom?"

Freshwater has begun a series about wisdom, and these are some of the ways God is teaching me through it:
-keep a thankful heart so that pride does not overtake wisdom (Romans 1:21)
-wisdom is application of knowledge
-God does not make us feel stupid for having to ask for wisdom; he graciously gives it to those who ask for it (James 5:8)
-my ears are tools for gaining wisdom; I need to be a good listener! (Proverbs 18:15)
-Knowledge can puff me up, but love builds others up
-knowledge can be dangerous if I put my hope in it instead of in Christ alone
-the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; finding great delight in his commands is a way to fear God (out of respect as I see more of Who he is) and hating sin

Now, after listing these things all out, I must say that while making a list of what I learn is so easy to do because God is always teaching me new things, the application of what I am learning lately has become practical in some very real and challenging ways through my job. I continue to learn and have ample opportunity to practice being quick to listen well, slow to speak, and slow to become angry or defensive. I am thankful for the prayers of friends during these past few weeks and recognize that God has answered their prayers in wonderful ways.

Sarah, thanks for the encouragement, I love that we are blog buddies. And I am sorry i've been a slacker lately. I will return to form tomorrow. I just needed a week or hiatus. :)
